Prepare a business plan, apply for a license, find a location, and find a supplier.Triathlon Information
Some people really love sports and if you’re one of them, don’t you think it’s a great idea to open a triathlon store? Before opening this type of store, you will need to know what triathlon is all about. This is considered as a multi-sport event to test the endurance of athletes in swimming, cycling, and finally, running; hence the term ‘triathlon’. When you open a triathlon store, you can sell items that can be used for the three sports mentioned. If you think that this is the best business opportunity for you, you will have to create a business plan.
The sport is for men and women. What items can you sell in your triathlon store? For the cycling, you can sell items like bags, altimeters, bike racks, bike pumps, beverages, gloves, taillights, headbands, headlights, heart rate monitors, helmets, socks, lip balm, map holders, music carriers, pedometer, odometers, saddles, sunglass, tires, transition bags, wallets, watches, and water bottles. For the swim gear, you can sell aquatic dumbbells, booties, ear care, flotation devices, hand paddles, hats, kayaking, lap counters, nose clips, pillow cases, pull buoys, snorkels, stop watches, and many others. For the running gear, you can sell exercise equipment, headbands, hydration packs, throat lozenges, towels, waist packs, lotions, etc.
Open a Triathlon Store – Options
Now that you know the items that you can sell, it’s time to find the store’s location. Choose a location that is found at the city or town center, preferably along malls and shopping stores. You can lease out the store or building space and purchase the needed fixtures, furniture, and display units. Hire the needed staff and delegate the tasks. You will also need to find a supplier for the inventory. You can use the internet to find the most reputable supplier online. Try to order only the right amount of inventory to keep your customers satisfied. You can also maintain an online store so that you can access the global market.
Secure the needed business license. Although the license can be costly and may take some time to get approved, it’s still a wise investment to prevent any legal problems in the future. If you want to open soon, you will need to submit the license requirements in advance. Once you’ve created the business plan, you can now apply for the license. By the time you’ve prepared everything in the store, you already have the license to operate legally. Advertise your triathlon store by sending out invitations to the launching date. You can send out flyers and business cards as well to attract potential customers.

We have a growing population and popularity for the sport here in Mexico and athletes don’t have a good source of where to find Tri gear. Can you contact me? Regards, Michael Joey said on December 20, 2011I did some research and if I want to buy brand name products like Nike, Trek, or for any other brand, they require an image of the store front and tax ID. If the business is not set up yet, how am I supposed to supply them with this information? thanksstephen said on January 10, 2013I’m in the process of opening a tri store and have been having trouble getting reps to call me back: especially running shoe reps. Any advice? i’ve already obtained proper licensing, permits, location, and have secured funds. I dont understand why getting merchandise is so difficult. I’m paying cash up front and not using any credit.Aji said on March 4, 2013Barb, I’m not aware of anything in Australia – new business for you maybe? I believe a similar tracking system was used for Ironman St George in Utah, but couldn’t find it and am not sure if it was graphic as well. (All the above fields are required.)
