Today, October 6, Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) announced that this coming October 18 to 24 the year’s Small Business Week(R) will be held and the theme will be “Your dream, your business, and your passion”.The BDC trademark event is the Small Business Week will features the vital input of small and also medium businesses to the economy of our nation today.
Jean-René Halde, BDC’s President and CEO stated that on there 30th anniversary, they are confident to witness how the businesses in Canada have appreciated Small Business Week for the past years.
The power of our economy comes from the small and medium sized businesses. They help in making the economy grow and they help in coming up with better and tough market. Now, it is vital to celebrate the victory and elasticity of many Canadian entrepreneurs, Halde added.
The agendas of Small Business Week are to offer entrepreneurs with the right training and to obtain development opportunities. Also, in order to come up with a forum in order for them to easily communicate and share some ideas and thoughts. With the abundant public and private sector organizations who provide assistance, BDC branches manage to play the vital role in lots of things such as publicizing local and national conferences, planning, seminars, trade fairs, business luncheons and workshops, with of course the aid of Small Business Week.
Small Business Week’s highlights with be the Young Entrepreneur Awards ceremony. The ceremony will be held on October 20 in Ottawa, Ontario at the Fairmont Château Laurier Hotel.
Commemorative trophy, and applauded by the business community will be presented to the awardees for the hard work and initiative. Canadians entrepreneurs aged 19 to 35, will be recognized by BDC for the business and leadership accomplishments. Panels of judges will be the ones to pick for the winners.

According to wireless network providers, the airwave frequencies that they are operating with will soon run out and they have to ask the government for bigger share.Wireless network providers have expressed strong fear that airwaves may soon be congested as demands for high-tech cellphones like the Apple iPhone and Reseach in Motion’s Blackberry increase.
As the mobile devices becoming more complicated, wireless networks providers said that they are now in danger of running out of room due to congestions on airwave frequencies.
“The airwaves spectrum is like our roads and highways. We move traffic through them. But the volume of the traffic in these airwaves is increasing dramatically and we need more lanes to allow a smooth sending of messages for the users. We need more highways now than ever,” said CTIA-The Wireless Association vice president of regulatory affairs Christopher Guttman-McCabe.
To date, mobile devices like the popular iPhone and Blackberry allow users to transmit or connect with their relatives and friends through a wide spectrum of wireless frequencies. This include Wi-Fi, 3G, TV and Radio broadcasts, which all use different types of airwaves to let users access it while on the go.But everything has a price. And this time, it was the airwaves.
Companies are now looking for more ways for users to communicate and transmit messages without interfering to other frequencies. These include petitions to the government by the wireless networks to give them a bigger share of the airwaves, even at the price of taking the rights of the users for their shares.
