CIDCO planned and constructed the railway stations in the city and developed the nearby areas. The Vashi bridge was opened in 1973 for the residents of Vashi, Nerul and CBD Belapur. The Sion-Panvel Expressway was built to reduce commuting time from Sion to Panvel.

The commissioning of a wholesale agricultural produce market in Vashi and building of a commuter railway line between Mankhurd and Vashi in 1992led to a very high population and economic growth.

Navi Mumbai has a vibrant industrial activity in the regions of Mahape and Taloja. The last decade has seen a steady growth of IT/ITeS sectors as well. The satellite city has seen a high growth of residential development in the last 5 years.

It is also the largest planned city in the world. The main purpose for building the city was to decongest the city of Mumbai.

Navi Mumbai covers 150 km of the total 720 km of the Konkan coast. There are totally 86 villages covering 39,400 acres within Navi Mumbai limits.

CIDCO had created 14 nodes/townships in Navi Mumbai. They are Vashi, Sanpada, Airoli, Ghansoli, Nerul, Kopar Khairane, CBD Belapur, New Panvel, Kamothe, Ulwe, Kalamboli, Dronagiri, Kharghar and Taloja. Each node is further divided into sectors.

Demographics:

According to census data, the city has seen a huge migration of population from the Island city of Mumbai (54.6%) . It also attracts population from other suburbs of Mumbai and Maharashtra (28.9%). There is a small population from outside Maharashtra that has settled here (0.7%).
According to 2011 consensus, the population in Navi Mumbai is 1,119,477 and its urban population is 18,414,288. The sex ratio in the city is 1000:831. The average literacy rate of the city is 91.57% out of which, 95.05% are males and 87.33% are females.

Employment Opportunities

Navi Mumbai has a buzzing manufacturing activity in the state owned industrial estates. The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) areas in Taloja and Mahape have several SMEs. Taloja has several companies such as Asian Paints, Exide Batteries and Asahi Glass.
There are several IT/ITeS companies and software parks making their way into the satellite city such as Reliance group, Patni Computer Systems, TCS and Mastek. The next decade is expected to see a market domination by the IT/ITeS sector.
Most of the employment opportunities in the city is on the stretch of the Thane-Belapur road. The areas of Airoli, Mahape, Rabale, Turbhe, Vashi, Jui nagar and Belapur are locations that have ample office spaces and have good employment opportunities.

Connectivity

The Mumbai suburban railway is the most prominent mode of public transport in Navi Mumbai. This connects most regions of Navi Mumbai to the main city of Mumbai and Thane. The most important railway stations are Vashi, Belapur, Panvel and Nerul. Panvel is the only mainline station as well as the busiest railway station in Navi Mumbai. A new broad gauge line has been made functional between Panvel and Karjat. There are currently three express trains that use this line.
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) and Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) provide bus services throughout Navi Mumbai, Mumbai and other areas of Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). There are regular BEST AC Kinglong and NMMT AC Volvo buses running between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
Navi Mumbai has the most advanced port in India: Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) in Nhava Sheva near Uran industrial area. It is well connected to roads and handle about 65% of the country’s container traffic.
The Navi Mumbai International Airport is proposed in Kopra-Panvel area. This is expected to decongest the air traffic in Mumbai. The airport will be built through Public Private Partnership (PPP). The airport is expected to be completed in 2017.

Residential Market in Navi Mumbai

Navi Mumbai is primarily an industry and investor driven market. Due to rapid growth of industrial activity post 1990, it has also emerged as a favorite location for end buyers.
Since 2007, 87,055 houses have been launched here. Out of them, about 65,400 units have been absorbed. The year 2010 saw the highest number of launches (approx. 28,240). However, soaring property prices put a dent on affordability post 2010. This increased the unsold inventory by 25% during the third quarter of 2012. Taking notice of this, developers have brought down the number of launches since then.
Navi Mumbai witnessed few new project launches in September 2013. Developers have held back on new launches primarily due to cautious market sentiments owing to rising inflation and economic situation. Some of the localities that have witnessed this slowdown include Ulwe, Panvel, Kamothe, Kharghar, Dronagiri and Khandeshwar.

This is done in the ‘field’; around shopping centers and in retail hot spots, expos and events, university campus’ and sport stadiums to name a few. Most campaign activities focus on customer facing roles including product demonstrations, direct selling and street training teams. However not all field marketing is consumer facing such as auditing and merchandising. Goals and outcomes of field marketing will differ from company to company. Some campaigns are designed to increase brand awareness or sales. While others may be to collect data and feedback about the product and its market. At Splatter we have all the tools necessary for the clients desired outcome to be achieved WHAT A FIELD MARKETING TEAM LOOKS LIKE. For successful field marketing campaigns companies might have dedicated teams within their business whose task it is to be creative and manage field marketing initiatives. A field marketing agency and  marketing Supplier in pandurangwadi tends to work in territories operating with reps within their own regions. Although territory management is more important for wide scale national distributing business, smaller brands are recognising the importance of managing promotions on a more local scale using teams to promote, audit and sell in their regions.

WHAT CAN FIELD MARKETING DO FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

1. PRODUCT DEMONSTRATIONS

As mentioned already, demo days are a popular tool of field marketing. These campaigns can stretch from as little as one week to 6 months however some are continuous and full time. For consumer goods this would mean having brand representatives in retail stores and around shopping centers, events or road shows. Finally The Brand Ambassadors are engaging with the consumer and showing them how the product or service works. This is important as it allows a potential buyer to get hands on experience and a feel of ownership of the product; most importantly the rep is also on hand to answers any questions the customer may have. Although a sell is great the main aim of a demo campaign is brand awareness. Food and beverage take a slightly differently approach. By handing out free samples and one off deals of their product around retail and events, consumers are getting a taste of the brands latest delicious treats and at the same time everyone loves free food! Sampling is a fun activation and is effective when bringing new products to the high street. Marketing Training Learn more about product demonstrations by checking out our in depth guide here.

2. DIRECT SELLING

Much like product demonstrations these campaigns have brand reps or ambassadors at the center of them. The difference is it’s more about the selling of the product. Sales rep might have targets to adhere to. Finally these campaigns are super effective during peak times when the difference in a sale or not can be having a knowledgeable brand rep in store. Product Demonstrations Learn more about what direct selling is in our guide here.

3. RETAIL AUDITS AND MERCHANDISING

Auditing takes the reps out off the front line and away from the consumer. Auditing teams are used by marketers to monitor traditional marketing strategies that they put in place across retail. Most of all audits ensure that the brand is represented as it should be on shelves and around retail hot spots. Examples are; checking POS is as it should be across the territories, promotions advertised and running and paid spaces such as gondolas are set up. The data collected from the teams can be useful for the marketers to negotiate better future deals. In addition it also allows for mistakes to be rectified there and then by the reps. Splatter offer a live system that can be monitored by the client in real team meaning that red flags in the field can be dealt with instantaneously .Store Audits and Merchandising To learn more about Audits and merchandising view our guide here.

Furthermore the term ‘Guerrilla Marketing’ itself is used to refer to campaigns that surprise consumers in locations and ways they might not usually expect. For that reason the experience remains with the consumer.

5. PRODUCT SAMPLING

Product Sampling To learn more about sampling work and what that involves view our guide here. WHO DOES WHAT? FIELD MARKETING REP: These guys and girls are the cream of the crop, they are masters of everything. Sometimes they may be conducting training sessions on major proportion for a retailers whole selling team. Another role they find themselves in are in is in the field collecting data and conducted audits. Finally everything in between including sales, merchandising, and working at events. Their primary concern is to drive brand awareness across their region through face to face with consumer and staff on a retail level. Read about what being a field marketing rep is all about here. Some larger scale business’ use celebrities to endorse their product and services by making them the face of their brand using social media to promote to their following. Learn about the various roles within the Field Marketing industry are by reading our guide here. You can also join our team by signing up here. DO YOU NEED FIELD MARKETING? Field marketing as you have seen is a useful tool to accompany other traditional marketing strategies. For example a company might pay a huge amount of money for prime advertising spot during a major sports event. However if this is the case it is important for the brand to follow up with demos in stores. If there is a brand rep placed in store the following few days after the advertising campaign the customer is more likely to come over and ask some questions about the product. Another reason you might need field marketing is to ensure your budget has been well spent. After investing into a large scale in-store promotion campaign you want to ensure that it is implemented to the standard agreed with the retailer. Data can be collected by auditing teams and analysed to see if the money had been well spent. Furthermore it also gives opportunity for future campaigns to implemented with higher efficiency and success.

The Five Pillars of Experiential Marketing1

[siteorigin_widget class="SiteOrigin_Widget_Headline_Widget"][/siteorigin_widget]

The Experiential Marketing Summit is an annual conference that brings together leaders in the marketing world. At last year’s event, the Vice President of Experience Marketing at Adobe, Alex Amado, spoke about what he considers to be the five pillars of experiential marketing. Adobe is one brand that has embraced experiential marketing from the very beginning, so all eyes in the room were on him during this keynote address. Here’s a look at the five pillars of experiential marketing that make every event a success:

Design

The design of an experiential marketing event should be of the utmost importance to every brand. This doesn’t mean that the design of the event should just be visually appealing, but also that it should convey a strong message about your brand. Guests should immediately know who the brand is and what they stand for when they walk into an event.

The event should also be designed in a way that makes the experience easy to understand. For example, when GE wanted to host an event to show industry professionals how they were providing global healthcare solutions to impoverished countries around the world, they relied heavily on the event’s design. The company set up several “movie sets” designed to look like various parts of the world that they had helped, including rural African villages and emergency rooms. Then, doctors stood in front of each set to explain to guests how GE’s initiative was impacting these areas. During this event, the design was used to make an impact on guests and clearly illustrate the difference that GE was making around the world.

Community

An experiential marketing event should also embrace the community of the brand’s potential and existing customers. One brand that seamlessly incorporated their community into their experiential marketing event was Google.

Google announced plans to give away $5.5 million to nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay area. Instead of letting executives decide where this money would go, the company enlisted the community’s help. Google set up interactive posters throughout the city in places such as bus shelters, restaurants, and shopping centers. The posters asked the community one simple question: where should the $5.5 million go? People in the community could then tap on the poster to vote for a specific cause such as helping parents and teachers connect, growing small businesses, or helping at-risk kids graduate.

This is a perfect example of how companies should embrace their communities. Google recognized that their donation could lead to significant change in the community, so they allowed the community to decide what needed to be changed. In this example, Google’s community was the actual community of San Francisco, but for many brands, the community is their target audience.

Engagement

Experiential marketing is all about engagement, so it’s no surprise that this is one of the five pillars of this strategy. In the past, brands engaged in one-way communication with their consumers. The brands sent messages via TV commercials, billboards, or print ads, and consumers did not have the ability to respond. But now, consumers demand that brands engage in two-way conversations with them. Consumers want to be able to provide feedback, share their concerns, and ask questions in order to gain a deeper understanding of the brand. Fortunately, this is all possible at experiential marketing events.

Guests should be able to test new products, speak with brand ambassadors, and participate in fun brand-related activities at an experiential marketing event. Even if guests are not actually purchasing the brand’s products, they are still engaging with the brand. Giving guests this type of positive experience is the first step to converting them into customers and building a lifelong relationship with them.

During the event planning process, marketers should constantly ask themselves how guests will engage with the brand. If there are not enough opportunities for guests to engage directly with the brand, changes need to be made in order for the event to be a success.

Data

Marketers should rely heavily on data both before and after an experiential marketing event. Before the event, marketers should use data to figure out where the event should be held, the best way to communicate to their target audience, and what results they should expect. After the event, marketers should analyze the data collected from the event to determine if the event was a success. This data should also be used to improve future events. For example, let’s say the data reveals that the vast majority of guests heard about the event on Instagram and none of the guests heard about the event on Twitter. When planning the next event, marketers should reference this data when determining the best way to invite members of their target audience.

Culture

Brands must have a customer-centric culture in order to plan successful experiential marketing events. If everyone in the company knows that the customer always comes first, this will help them make better decisions when it comes to planning and hosting an experiential marketing event. The event will truly be designed with the customer in mind, which makes it much more enjoyable for guests.

It’s important for brands to hire brand ambassadors that understand the idea of a customer-centric culture. The brand ambassadors will be the face of your brand during an experiential marketing event, so they must be trained to make sure every guest has a pleasant and memorable experience. If they don’t put the customers first, guests will assume that your company doesn’t either.

Branding for Results

Most companies believe that a solid product with good service, delivered on time, is enough to create a competitive edge in most markets. Yet, research indicates that most buyers do not believe there’s much difference among competitors’ products. Predictably in that situation, most buyers defer to price. But, there is hope. In order to differentiate yourself, you must focus on the concept of brand identity – that which sets you apart. The goal of brand identity is to have your end user believe that your product or service is different from, or more valuable than, the other products in your market sector. And your customers will have to be willing to pay more for it.

Look at the products and services your company provides, and then ask yourself – what do your customers receive? “On time delivery,” “customer service,” “quality,” Give me a break! How many companies do you know that would sell against you and say they didn’t have quality products, on time delivery, great customer service, and superior sales people? Get real. Everybody’s saying the same thing. So what is your advantage?

[siteorigin_widget class="SiteOrigin_Widget_Headline_Widget"][/siteorigin_widget]

Brand identity is the business that your customers and prospects think you are in, not the business that you think you are in. There are three ways customers and prospects can brand you. They can brand you by virtue of the product that you sell, which is the simplest form of brand identity. They can brand you by virtue of your process, the extras that you wrap around your product – or they can brand you by virtue of the outcomes – what your product or service does for the customer. This is the most sophisticated form of brand identity.

Look around you at great companies that have followed the outcomes lead:
  • Xerox went from the copier company to the document company.
  • Kinko’s went from your copy center to your branch office.
  • Harley-Davidson was told it was extinct many years ago. It fought itself back to prominence by shifting from selling motorcycles to selling a lifestyle. It’s an experience, a sense of belonging, and like owning a nostalgic slice of Americana.
If these fine companies can do it, you can do it. These four questions will help you evaluate your brand identity:
  • 1 – Do your customers understand your product and service well enough to be able to describe what you do clearly to others?
  • 2 – Do your customers know what makes your company special and can they articulate that within their own company?
  • 3 – Do your customers value your brand so much that they are willing to pay more for whatever it is that makes it so special?
  • 4 – Do your customers feel so strongly about your brand that they will defend it – even at a higher price – when it comes under attack?
If you answered No” to any of these questions, then we need to go to work on your brand identity right now.
[siteorigin_widget class="SiteOrigin_Widget_Headline_Widget"][/siteorigin_widget]

There are two ways that your customers learn what business you’re in: design and behavior. Design is the business you tell them you’re in. Behavior is the business you show them you’re in.

Answering three very simple questions enables you to announce your brand:
  • Who are you?
  • What do you do?
  • Whom do you do it for?

How do you answer those questions today? When you describe your business, do you sound just like your competition? Consequently, are your products and services – your brand – perceived as generic and undifferentiated?

[siteorigin_widget class="SiteOrigin_Widget_Headline_Widget"][/siteorigin_widget]
The Brand Trilogy involves three steps:
  • 1 – Creating the Brand – deciding the function of the business and how to describe it to your prospects and customers.
  • 2 – Selling the Brand – how you have to alter the nature of your sale to sell this enhanced offering to the customer.
  • 3 – Living the Brand. – the procedures you need to create within your company to ensure that you fulfill this brand promise to the end user.

Creating the brand must be approached from the outcomes perspective. Remember the three questions: Who are you, what do you do, and whom do you do it for? Creating the brand is the most important step in the branding process.Selling the brand involves altering the sales process to communicate effectively your brand’s value proposition to the client. Not only must your sales process communicate this, but also your sales force must be able to articulate these outcomes in the context of the prospect’s company in terms they can understand.

Living the brand begins after the sale is made. You have made a promise. What internal dynamics must you now mobilize to fulfill this enhanced and expanded business promise?

[siteorigin_widget class="SiteOrigin_Widget_Headline_Widget"][/siteorigin_widget]

Be honest about your positioning in the marketplace. Look at the brand trilogy – creating, selling, and living the brand – and see how it applies to your business. Have the courage to ask the four questions about how your clients currently embrace your product or service line. Be willing to take a design look as well as a behavior look at your company. If you do these things and are ever vigilant and diligent to the marketplace, you will lay a blueprint for phenomenal and continued success.

Remember the quote from the great hockey player, Wayne Gretsky, when he was asked how he managed to be the greatest hockey player of all time. He said, “You know, I’m a little surprised you haven’t picked it out on your own. But since you haven’t, I’ll be happy to tell you. I always go where the puck is going to be.”That is my wish for you today. That you take your business not where it is, but where it can be, where it should be, and where the customer really wants it to be.

Becoming Marketing Active: The Fulcrum Guide to Getting Started with Business Marketing –  In the first part of our guide to becoming marketing active door2door Marketing Outsourcing firm in navi mumbai, we looked at some of the reasons that drive a business to start marketing (if you missed part one, check it out here). But once you’ve made the decision to embark on a marketing strategy for your business, what next? Where do you start and what steps should you take to ensure a smooth and successful process? As is so often the case in business (and life!), preparation is key. So before rushing into any kind of marketing, it’s important to take the time to plan, research and strategise for success. In order to create an effective marketing strategy, you need to develop a thorough understanding of your market, your competitors and your business itself. This means getting back to basics and equipping yourself with all the information you need to identify marketing activities that work for your brand. 1) Research your target market How much do you know about the target audience of your product or service? We’re not just talking about age, sex or occupation (though, of course, you need to know these too). To have the best chance of reaching your target market, you need to dig deeper and find out exactly what drives them towards purchase. What kind of triggers are they most likely to respond to? Which elements of the marketing mix have the most impact on them? How will your product or service benefit them? Understanding these aspects of your target audience will enable you to position and market your brand accordingly, so comprehensive market research is essential. It’s often easier (and more cost-effective) to outsource this type of research to a professional agency who will be better placed to obtain the information you need. 2) Analyse your competition In order to stay ahead of your competitors, you need to know who they are, what they’re doing and how they’re doing it. Once you’ve identified who your key business competitors are, look into the marketing methods they’re using and the way in which they have positioned their brand. What channels and platforms have they chosen to market their business? How are they promoting their brand and its products/services? Consider which elements are crucial to your own business and how you can position your brand in order to get ahead. 3) Define your objectives What do you want to achieve from your marketing activity? Whether it’s to increase your revenue, establish your business in a new market segment or improve brand awareness, setting clear, measurable marketing objectives is vital in understanding what steps need to be taken in order to achieve these goals. Make sure that each identified objective is specific (how much do you want to increase revenue by?), achievable (is it realistic?) and has a timeframe for accomplishment (are you aiming to achieve this goal in three months or a year?). You also need to make sure that your marketing objectives tie in with your overall business objectives. 4) Understand your business You may think you have a pretty good understanding of your business, but it’s surprising what insights can be achieved when you conduct a thorough SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats). Be rigorous, be meticulous, and above all be brutally honest. Is a lack of staff training letting your business down? Are your prices too high to compete in today’s market? Arming yourself with this knowledge is invaluable in developing a marketing strategy that leverages your company’s strengths and addresses those areas which need to be improved. In the next instalment of the Fulcrum guide to becoming marketing active, we’ll be looking at the raft of marketing channels available and helping you to identify which ones are best for your business.

B2B Experiential Marketing – When does it work?

What is experiential marketing? On the rise in recent years, door2door Marketing Outsourcing firm in pune and experiential marketing is all about customer interaction with your brand. It offers a unique experience with products or services, allowing customers to get a feel for how they would use it in their lives. For years marketers have been trying to get customers to use and trial their products. In this way it’s not a new concept; there have however, certainly been some innovative spins on how it’s done. Let’s look at experiential marketing, how it can work for B2Bs and some of the ways it can help build your brand.

Emotional + Experiential Branding = Experiential Marketing The two elements that underpin experiential marketing are emotional branding and experiential branding.

Emotional branding: is about building the relationship between your brand and customers. Promoting emotional benefits like brand trust, security and credibility as a result of engaging with your brand is crucial. Experiential branding: designs and creates interactions that are sensory in nature, which emotionally influences preferences, shaping brand perception, and influencing satisfaction and loyalty. An excellent experiential marketing campaign is able to fuse both elements seamlessly together. Experiential Marketing for B2Bs In recent years interest in B2B experiential marketing has grown and some of the initial hesitation surrounding it has been replaced with a working understanding, when to do it, and how it stimulates ROI. For B2Bs, experiential marketing is generally less obvious, with the focus often on services (for example) in place of B2C exciting product launches. Oftentimes the B2B budget is also stretched. However we are seeing marketers begin to recognise the potentials that the experience can offer consumers. “The success of brand experience within the B2C market has not gone unnoticed, and B2B marketers are waking up to the potential of brand experience. However, there is a long way to go before they catch up with their B2C counterparts.” – Graham Ede, Ion Group 3 Examples of B2B experiential marketing Location with B2Bs can be one of the major barriers, and while it may not be easy to do experiential marketing in quite the same way as B2C, there’s certainly room to employ some of the same principals. Creating sensory interactions that promote core feelings of trust, and awareness of your product or services is central to this. Fulcrum marketing in public spaces – Linked with experiential, some marketers use a form of Fulcrum marketing. They tend to hold this drive in places where there are high concentrations of business buyers. Branded promotional staff can offer business people the opportunity to enter in a promotion, or sign up to attend an event whilst promoting the benefits of the product.  demonstrations & reward – as part of a targeted marketing strategy, those in the IT space can offer information via webinar or video, which can showcase some aspects of the technology solution. Some marketing and web-based tools such as  offer a free trial period, together with online coaching via Skype. This allows the user to build confidence in using the tool, and to experience all of the benefits of the trial period. At the end of the trial period (7 days), the participant is given a report with feedback on how well they have used the tool. Then they are awarded a certificate. Surprises and games – Surprising customers by showing up where they least expect you, gifting them, or sending them a card is a way to provide an out of the box experience and drive brand awareness. Another option could be to exhibit at a partner’s event as IBM did. Their interactive stand came complete with a candy bar, and plasma screens which posted live tweets from event attendees. Digital technology such as apps and games are also opportunity areas, and while often costly, look set to become more widespread and affordable in future. Experiential marketing reflects the growing importance of emphasising emotions to build successful brands. Digital media offers expanding opportunities to offer such experiences. In the ever-competitive B2B marketplace, it’s no longer enough to rely on traditional modes for lead generation. B2B marketers need to consider the complete kit that is available to them including; social media, mobile, search, paid advertising, print, telemarketing and increasingly placing emotion at the heart of it all with an experiential approach.
