Seth Green has a new show for ABC titled “UN-BROKE.”Perhaps better known as Scotty, Dr. Evil’s son from the movie “Austin Powers,” Green does not have the slacker image that most Hollywood stars possess. He parties on a budget and makes sure that his financial records are going well.
Green compares “UN-BROKE” (his new show) to the 1970s informative and funny “Schoolhouse Rock.” He says, “We’re in a situation where we need to put a lot of importance and emphasis on financial wealth. I’m concerned about the American youth growing up and watching Cribs, Sweet 16, and MTV. Right now they have different aspirations and goals. But you can’t fault them for that due to their influences. They only learn what adults tell them.”
So Green and his cast want to help. “The goal of the show would be to offer financial education to kids without something boring or stale. Un-broke will give information about the importance of money and the basics of a healthy mortgage,” he added.
Even as a child actor, Green’s parents taught him how to live within his means and pay bills at an early age. He revealed, “I don’t spend lots of money. I work hard, save well, purchase assets in property, and live a simple life. I’m happy with that.” These principles can also be applied in business.
From being an actor to producer is an eye-opening process. His advice for success is simply, “Acquire many skills, work hard, and don’t take things personally.”
