The Gwalior Fort in the heart of the city holds is reputed for being one of the most structurally sound forts of India. The Jai Vilas Mahal, once the palatial abode of the Scindias, is one of the largest museums in Madhya Pradesh today. It exudes a mix of British and Hindu architecture.
